This is the first edition in the Wolfcraig Triple Sherry Cask Finish Series, limited to only 4401 bottles produced.
Wolfcraig Master Blender, Richard Paterson OBE, travelled to Bodega San Andres in Jerez de la Frontera and meticulously selected the sherry casks to be used for this indulgent series of triple sherry cask finish releases.
After sherry had been soaking in them for 15 long years, Richard chose the Amontillado, Pedro Ximenez and Muscatel casks to provide the characterful finish to this premium blend.
Wolfcraig Master Blenders, Richard Paterson and Ian Macmillan had already been perfecting the blend that they would put into these sherry casks, influencing the profile with fine malts from distilleries that Richard and Ian have worked with in the past.
Our blends also stand out from the pack because of their distinctively high malt content, with this release hosting an indulgent 50/50 malt to grain ratio.
To bring this whisky to the pinnacle of perfection, Richard and Ian split their blend between the three distinct types of sherry cask and let them further mature for another 3 years.
To put the finishing touches on this 14 year old first edition, our Master Blenders experimented, tasted and debated upon the final balance of the three sherry cask finishes and found the sweet spot for bottling. The exact composition of the sherries is known only to these two masters of their craft.

Colour: Golden hue of honeyed satin wood and gold.
Nose: Warm and appealing. Enchanting and exhilarating as gentle hints of sunkissed raisins, fresh peaches, tangerines and lemon grass evoke a sense of tranquility as they pleasingly drift in perfect harmony. Exciting aromas quickly follow on with nuances of creamy caramel and vanilla delicately dance in the background to complete this portrait of beauty.
Taste: Generous and satisfying. There is true elegance in its muscle as succulent figs, sweet sultanas and Napoleon cake reward the palate, with a hint of demerara sugar and molasses. Rich and intense at first but like all good things you must wait; after all it has taken many years to consummate this loving union of different seasoning from the selected casks. The aftertaste of glazed tangerines, marzipan and chocolate mousse with fresh hints of spicy ginger and nutmeg provide the perfect finish to this luxurious blended whisky.
Amontillado – adding depth – with hints of Roasted nuts and dried fruits
Muscatel – adding sweetness with notes of Old English Marmalade
